Telling Writing
Monday February, 3 was a very odd morning. I didn't fall asleep until one o'clock p.m. and was struggling to fall asleep. When I wake up I am usually like a zombie walking around and getting ready, but I was like toddler on a sugar high running around the house. I was also like a starving wolf who got its food taken away because I didn't want to go to school. My mom made me and I was disappointed. I slept in a little bit longer so I felt like I was a quarterback almost getting sacked because I had to leave the house soon and wasn't ready. I finally got out of the house and went to school.

Setting
Court
Open up the double doors and hear the whoosh of the door pushing through the air. When I step in I'm blinded by the bright light bouncing off the wood floors piercing my eyes. There was thunder echoing throughout the gym from the basketball being pounded on the wooden floor. The whistle rings in my ears like after a gun goes off. I run onto the court and see my teammate's game faces as we get ready to go and crush the team like a grape. The teams go tot their benches after warm ups to make a game plan on how they are going to get the sweet taste of victory. Before every game it feels like there is a flaggel of butter flies in my stomach ready to burst out of me. The starting five strut onto the court and give each other high fives for good luck and words of encouragement to get over team fired up! The giant beast Kaitlyn steps into the center of the ring against the enemies giant, sizing each other up. The ball goes up and Kaitlyn sky's for it! She gently taps the ball goes up, and the game starts. Both teams are like race horses flying up and down the court. We were neck and neck but then the other team pulled ahead right before half time. I'll admit we were like a dog with a blanket on his head but we new what we had to do to get back into the game. Our coaches were making adjustments so we could go out there and take it to them. After their half time speech we step out onto the court and hear the roar of the crowd. We go out with a flame under our butts and pounce on the other team. I could feel the sweat of the other girls and my nose burned from the sent of body order. When I got a break it felt like I was in the desert for days and finally got a drop of water. My Gatorade bottle squirted my face like mist from a waterfall. After I was replenished I went right back on the court. All I can hear is a voice in my head screaming "Win!" I was like a puppy wanting a bone that's how bad I wanted to win. the whole game came down to the final wonderful moments. we were up by 2 points and we were in bonus. Being in bonus can be like hitting the jackpot but you still have to spin two more diamonds in a row before you can get your prize. We had the ball and Tori passed the ball to me and at that moment I knew what would happen. I got smacked in the arm and it was the best feeling in the world. Then it was like a building fell in me. A wave of pressure swept over my body because I knew I had to make them. As I was walking to the line I could hear the crowd roaring, the shoes squeaking, girl talking, coaches yelling, and that voice in my head screaming "Win!" As the chubby ref passed me the smooth round basketball that I have come to know and love , my mind went blank. You could hear a pin drop and it was just me, a basketball, and the hoop. L...I...Goodbye and I knocked my first free throw down. Then my confidence sky rocketed because that put us up by 3. The second free throw was like breathing that's how natural it felt. Then everything hit me again, the crowd and the coaches yelling. My teammates and I busted our butts back to play defense like a brick wall, not letting anything pass. That's exactly what we did. Less than a minute on the time bomb you want to explode! The Bloomer girl throws up a 3 put then Tori flies through the air and gives her, her Thanksgiving dinner early with that stuffing. Tori pushed the bull up to Abbie and they fouled her too. I took a huge deep breath as Abbie was walking to the free throw line. Tori and I met up at half court when Abbie went to the line. We looked at each other and we knew this was it. We weren't like a kid in a candy shop, we were like a blind man being able to see or a women who has lived in silence her whole life, finally being able to hear. That's how ecstatic we were! We hugged with joy, then watched the most beautiful scene in my life, better than The Notebook, Abbie knocked down both of her free throws. Now, there were 20 seconds left on the clock and we just had to play defense and fight for the rebound. They threw up a shot and bam! Avery came out with the rebound and that was it! The crowd went crazy! We ran to our benches and embraced each other. I could smell our sticky sweat but at that time it was the sweetest smell ever! We cried with joy but with sadness pinching at our hearts because we knew our traveling basketball days were over. After Bruce and Dan got done flipping out and us girls were done crying, we shook the hands of our ex biggest rivals and friends who pushed us and we battled against for many years. Without Bloomer, I don't think we would be as good or be the team we are today. They have pushed us through blood, sweat, and tears because all we've wanted to do was to beat them in the state championship. Instead of shaking their hands, we gave them sweaty hugs because that's how much we respected and cared for each others team. After we got control of ourselves, it was the moment I have been waiting a life time for. To get our first place state championship trophy! They announced the second place team first and we all clapped for them. Then came the moment we got our medals around our necks and holding he trophy high in the air! My heart was beating out of my chest with joy! And that is the moment when all that hard work paid off.Hotel
We are finally able to step out of the car because we were packed in the car like sardines. I stepped out, stretched and looked up at the palace we would be staying in for the weekend. But the only thing was, this palace was farther than the moon away from being a palace. The first thing I noticed when I walked into the hotel was the smell, which hit me like a wall. It was like a witches concoction with a mixture of poop, chlorine and smoke all mixing together in the air. Then a blur went across my face when people were playing hotel tag. When I saw that, I thought it was going to be alright but I was proven wrong. We talked to the cashier who sounded like she was underwater because she spoke so nasally, and got our key. As we walked down the dark, musty hallways we could feel the mist trickle our skin, holding our breaths hoping our rooms would be nice. We were wrong again. I didn't just run into a wall, I walked into a wall of steel because that's how atrocious it smelt where I would be sleeping for the next two nights. I walked over to the one thing I still had hope for, the bed, and that was like getting a hamburger with just a bun, a total disappointment. It felt like an old, rusty wooden floor, that was very scratchy and rough. Sadly we weren't the only team in the hotel room. My ears were ringing with laughter and commotion. My team and I weren't going to let the biggest dump in the world bring us down. Two of the "parents" got us all together to play hotel tag, I hate being chased so when someone is, I feel like they are a murderer trying to hunt me down and stab me to death. Luckily that didn't happen but it felt close enough. We were chasing each other like hungry lions chasing gazelles. Then, out of nowhere, a sound so raspy and old came from a lady who reminded me of medusa. Her voice said I smoke 3 packs a day when really she yelled at us for being too loud. I could hear the sounds of my friends chuckles when really I was scared because she seemed like one of those ladies who weren't afraid to sock you on sight. We just shrugged it off and went to our dungeons. It was difficult for me to sleep because there was a bear who had too much beer on the bed next to me. Then I finally zonked out with the fumes burning my nose. The next morning, I woke up and got ready in the junkiest hotel I have ever seen. Thank the Lord baby Jesus they had pop tarts in the vending machine because their continental breakfast tasted like my brothers cooking; and one time my brother made cookies that we used as hockey pucks. Then my eyes could finally see beauty when we left for the gym.
Car
My ears were bleeding with pain as Tori belched out the words of "Big Girls Don't Cry." All of the birds flew south after hearing that. Then my nose started to burn. A bitter sourness entered my nose which smelt like vinegar, poop, and horse radish. After Tori and the rest of the girls were done singing and were tired all I heard was sweat music. I then got really tired and rested my head on the window. My elbow could barley stay on the arm rest and was slipping off like it was glare ice and my head was pounding against the window with every pebble on the road. I crawled to the back bumping my knee on the metal from the head rests trying to grab my soft fluffy pillow. My head then soaked into the fluffy pillow but I wasn't completely comfortable because there was a buckle digging into my side. I laid there gliding my finger over the smooth surface of my phone trying to entertain myself. My dad then passed back the McDonalds and the deep fry filled bag engulfed my nose. I took a bite of the calorie filled cheeseburger and cheese stuck to my teeth and bun got stuck in my braces as I chewed. I then took a handful of French fries and stuffed them down my throat and it was like I took a gulp of water from the ocean and just chewed on my pillow because they were salty and squishy. I washed all of it down with a nice cold drink of Sprit. I then laid my head back down and looked at all the weird people around me who I call my friends sleeping. Tori's mouth was like a waterfall that's how much drool was coming out of her mouth.

Strange Fruit Paragraph
The author was sending a message that the people from the south back then were cruel to blacks and would kill them. Mrs. Holiday easily convinced people that whites were mean in that time frame because of the detailed and gory description on how they would kill blacks. The way she compared things showed how the whites thought by doing this was normal and noble. The way Billie worded the poem showed/told how much they suffered. The worst thing about whites killing blacks is that they thought they were being heroic and it was a "pretty" scene in the south. What white southerners did to blacks was insanely terrible and Billie Holiday described it well in her poem "Strange Fruit."

Vocab Story 1
My Grandpa is a very important person in my life but lately he has had some bad luck and has been on a roller coaster ride of misfortune. It all started out one day when he was masquerading my grandma. He would imitate her laugh and walk just like how she did. She walks funny because she got a knee and hip replacement. My grandpa is very sweet and innocuous guy who couldn't even hurt a fly but he looks like a scary man. My grandma got really upset with him and she thought he was the most annoying person ever. I thought she was going to maim him! I told her not to hurt sweet old grandpa but she did. She kicked him and punched him but something terrible happened. She tripped on the rug flew out the window (which was two inches off the ground) then grandpa went to go and help her but she spit her acid saliva in his face which left him blind and battered. My grandpas aplomb was at an all time low because he didn't just get beat up by a girl but by a grandpa. Every time he saw any of his friends they would make fun of him and now he barley comes out of the house. One thing that I was enlightened on about my grandpa was that he got his vision back! That is the only good luck he has had in a long time. When my grandma informed me about his vision I was thrilled but she didn't seem to care.

Category 1: Art of the Harlem Renaissance, Group:Caitlin T. Abbie R. and Jackson S.
The picture of the black guy sitting at the table relates to American History because it shows how black people didn't get treated fairly. Although slavery had long been abolished, white landowners treated the black people harshly and unfairly. The picture shows the guy with his head down like he is worn out and tired of getting treated badly and that's how all blacks back then. They were treated like that just because they had a different skin color and it was not fair because they had to work even harder then white people and still got treated badly. The picture also shows the bowl with no food in it. They wouldn't get very much food because they were poor and were treated poorly. Abbie Caitlin Jackson

Mylie Cyrus is a Disaster!
Mylie Cyrus is now a complete disaster sense she has come off Disney Channel. She was a role model to many little girls while she was on Disney but now she is a disgusting, sexual, and crazy singer. Right now most kids can't even listen to her music let alone watch her music videos. In her music videos she is either naked, twerking, licking something, or sticking her tongue out! I personally use to LOVE her when she was on Disney Channel but now I look down on her.

State Basketball
My favorite life story is when we went to state this past year for basketball. We played at Steven's Point and we played a total of 7 games. We played four games on Saturday and three games on Sunday. On Saturday we won all of our games and we didn't have any close games. On Sunday we won our first two games pretty easily. Then it was the championship game against Bloomer St.Paul, our biggest rivals. They are a very good team but the funny thing is, is that they are mostly all related and they all go to this little catholic school in Bloomer. The whole game was close! We would pull ahead then they would catch up and pull ahead. There were 45 seconds left and we were up by two. They fouled me so they could get the ball back and I made both my free-throws, which put us up by four. That was a more comfortable lead but when they went down the court she tried to shoot a three but Tori stuffed her and got the ball back. They then fouled Abbie and she also made both her free-throws! After she was done with her free-throws there was only a few seconds left, and we won the game! Everyone was hugging and cheering! When we went to say good game to the other team, instead of shaking hands we hugged each other because they are a great, talented team who we are friends with.
